An engaging singer/songwriter John D. Lamb peppers his concerts with songs from his long career as a troubadour. His shows feature love ballads, saloon torch songs, Michigan cowboy songs, songs that resonate with humorous foibles. Lamb tours extensively through the Midwest, doing over 200 shows per year either solo or with his band. Lamb was recognized by the Metro Times as Detroit's "Best Rock Songwriter" and is a winner of WRIF-FM's Local Riffs contest. Radio stations as far away as Australia and Germany feature tracks from his album, A Novel Day.

As executive director of the nonprofit organization Springfed Arts, Lamb presents the well-known Lamb's Retreat for Songwriters. In addition to bringing in some of acoustic music's top songwriters as faculty members, Lamb has given out over 300 individual songwriting assignments to musicians throughout the Midwest.
