Gretchen DeVault is singer/guitarist/songwriter for the indie-pop band the Icicles. The band recently released "A Hundred Patterns," their first full-length album. The band released an EP in 2001 entitled Pure Sugar.

Gretchen began playing guitar and writing songs while in college. After taking a guitar class and a voice class she immediately wrote her first song and joined her first band. Gretchen’s influences include: the Carpenters, Heavenly, Tori Amos, Natalie Merchant, Mojave 3, and Bread.
