ARTIST UPDATE #2Greetings Artists, The time is near, the vibe is palpable. I always get just a little nervous standing on the edge of something new (especially something where I have to comply with a related deadline....). You may be feeling similar with less than two weeks until AWT 2008. As we chose not to have an Artist's Production Meeting this year, I'm sending this email to fill you in and, hopefully, answer questions. Please read the entire missive as there may be things you don't know that you Will Need To Know... Sections get shorter as you go, directing you to info posted in The Green Room. ............................... We really need to hear from everybody, um, TODAY (Wednesday, November 26), who has not "declared" what traditional/cover song you will be playing. We have three confirmations thus far: Email joscar@octoberday.com ...you can keep track of who's doing what at: ............................... Whenever we try something new for AWT it takes awhile to get it "burned in" - requesting an MP3 of your NEW winter holiday song is one of those things. So let's start by setting a deadline: please send an MP3 to joscar@octoberday.com by 7:00pm December 1, 2008.

Hopefully you have already informed your fans that you're playing at The Wealthy Theatre for AWT by putting it on your website / blog / MySpace / Facebook / Reverbnation / (can I just say social networking...) page and including it in emails - if not, please do so now. We'll be sending out the first of two Official Announcement emails on December 1, 2008. You will be able to link to that email (or copy it's copy) from a page we'll post in The Green Room called "Steal This Message!" We'll notify you as soon as that page is published. If you are sending out an email before then (a pre-scheduled December Newsletter), you can still get all the "where, what, when, price" info from the Press Release in The Green Room at: ............................... I could tell you why it's cool and what benefits it might offer AWT you and me. But it's not going to happen before the show. Nope. Just ran out of time.
